A word from the Publisher
Les Éditions Cayenne was born from the entwining of two passions: photography and books. I am the director of the Centre de documentation sur la photographie, a place devoted to research in photography and to its promotion in Québec. For the last fifteen years, I have been the editor of an online newsletter about photography that is distributed to more than 850 subscribers. As curator of many photo exhibitions, I noticed that the publication of photography art books is sporadic in Québec. Knowing that photographers seriously considering an artistic career must have a published book or catalogue, the idea came to me of creating a publishing house devoted to photography—if only to add a little spark to the Québec photography scene.
Positioned between conventional publishing house and self-publishing, Les Éditions Cayenne provides a “turnkey” publishing service for the production of high-quality photo - graphy books. Promotion and dissemination is provided in libraries, in art centres, among photographers, and in organizations devoted to photography around the world. Various services are also offered at every stage of managing the project and producing the book.
